WELCOME
YOUR GRACE IS ENOUGH
Great is Your faithfulness, oh God
You wrestle with the sinner's heart
You lead us by still waters into mercy
And nothing can keep us apart
So, remember Your people
Remember Your children
Remember Your promise, oh God
Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough for me
Great is Your love and justice, God of Jacob
You use the weak to lead the strong
You lead us in the song of Your salvation
And all Your people sing along
So, remember Your people
Remember Your children
Remember Your promise, oh God
Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough for me
Yeah, Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough for me
So, remember Your people
Remember Your children
Remember Your promise, oh God
Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough for me
Yeah, Your grace is enough
Heaven reaching down to us
Your grace is enough for me
Yes, Your grace is enough
And I'm covered in Your love
Your grace is enough for me, for me
CHRIST IS RISEN
Let no one caught in sin remain
Inside the lie of inward shame
We fix our eyes upon the cross
And run to Him who showed great love
And bled for us
Freely You bled for us
Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with Him again
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Beneath the weight of all our sin
You bowed to none but Heaven's will
No scheme of Hell, no scoffer's crown
No burden great can hold You down
In strength You reign
Forever let Your church proclaim
Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with Him again
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
O death, where is your sting?
O hell, where is your victory?
O church, come stand in the light
The glory of God has defeated the night
Sing it, O death, where is your sting?
O hell, where is your victory?
O church, come stand in the light
Our God is not dead, He's alive, He's alive
Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with Him again
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with Him again
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
LOVE LIFTED ME
Verse 1
I was sinking deep in sin,
Far from the peaceful shore,
Very deeply stained within,
Sinking to rise no more;
But the Master of the sea
Heard my despairing cry,
From the waters lifted me,
Now safe am I.
CHORUS
Love lifted me!
Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help,
Love lifted me.
Love lifted me!
Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help,
Love lifted me.
Verse 2
All my heart to Him I give,
Ever to Him I'll cling,
In His blessed presence live,
Ever His praises sing.
Love so mighty and so true
Merits my soul's best songs;
Faithful, loving service, too,
To Him belongs.
Verse 3
Souls in danger, look above,
Jesus completely saves;
He will lift you by His love
Out of the angry waves.
He's the Master of the sea,
Billows His will obey;
He your Savior wants to be-
Be saved today.
GRACE GREATER THAN OUR SIN
Verse 1
Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary's mount outpoured,
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.
CHORUS
Grace, grace, God's grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God's grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin!
Verse 2
Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold,
Threaten the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,
Points to the refuge, the mighty cross.
Verse 3
Dark is the stain that we cannot hide;
What can avail to wash it away?
Look! There is flowing a crimson tide,
Brighter than snow you may be today.
Verse 4
Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive?
O HOW HE LOVES YOU AND ME
O how He loves you and me!
O how He loves you and me!
He gave His life, what more could He give?
O how He loves you and me!
DRAW ME CLOSE
Draw me close to you
Never let me go
I lay it all down again
To hear you say that I'm your friend
You are my desire
No one else will do
'Cause nothing else can take your place
To feel the warmth of your embrace
Help me find the way
Bring me back to you
You're all I want
You're all I've ever needed
You're all I want
Help me know you are near
Draw me close to you
Never let me go
I lay it all down again
To hear you say that I'm your friend
You are my desire
No one else will do
'Cause nothing else can take your place
To feel the warmth of your embrace
Help me find the way
Bring me back to you
You're all I want
You're all I've ever needed
You're all I want
Help me know you are near
You're all I want
You're all I've ever needed
You're all I want
Help me know you are near
Help me know you are near
Help me know you are near

MESSAGE: LEAVING LEGALISM BEHIND (ROMANS CHAPTER 7)
Gospel = The Good News of Jesus
Recap
1. The gospel changes us by filling our hearts with a hope that does not disappoint.
2. God’s grace is more than sufficient for our worst sins and toughest situations.
3. Grace is not meant to give us a license to sin, rather a life free from the power of sin.
Today’s Point: Religion without a relationship never leads to true righteousness.
Legalism:
1. “the belief that one’s practices, disciplines, and behaviors make one righteous before God; to live under the law instead of grace”
2. “to be so preoccupied with the law of God that one fails to recognize God Himself; to have rules and no relationship”
3. “a pattern of living that focuses on image to the detriment of one’s integrity; to look righteous without being righteous”
What Can We Do to Leave Legalism Behind?
1. We Have to Die to that Way of Thinking and Living(vs. 1-6)
You will never be able to live the life God intends until you are willing to die.
For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.
-Matthew 16:25, NIV
2. We Have to Understand the True Purpose of the Law(vs. 7-13)
The Law reveals sin and shows us what’s dirty. It’s like a mirror. The Law does not redeem us from our sin nor is it able to make us clean. It’s not a shower, it’s only a mirror. It’s not meant to save us, it’s meant to point us to our savior. It’s not our final destination, it’s a signpost pointing us towards something more.
For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.
-Romans 3:20, ESV
3. We Have to Allow Jesus to Deliver Us from a War We can Never Win Ourselves(vs. 14-25)
“It’s not enough just to know what’s right and what’s not. Knowing what’s right never gave a person the power to do what’s right. You need more. What good does it do a person if they know all the rules but they don’t have the power to keep them?”
Are you stuck in a war between who you are and who you want to be?
But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
-Romans 6:22, NIV
Don’t just settle for learning the Law, love the Law-giver.
For those trying to get right with God by doing enough good: Confess your sins, repent, and put your faith in Jesus to find the free gift of salvation that can’t be earned. Receive God’s grace. (Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 John 1:9; Romans 10:9)
For those who have allowed themselves to get into a pattern of living that is putting more emphasis on their effort than God’s power and presence: Spend time with your Lord. Open up your Bible and go read John 15:1-17. Spend time with God, connect, and reignite your love for Him.
O COME TO THE ALTAR
Are you hurting and broken within,
Overwhelmed by the weight of the sin,
Jesus is calling.
Have you come to the end of yourself,
Do you thirst for a drink from the well,
Jesus is calling.
O come to the altar,
The Father’s arms are open wide,
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ.
Leave behind your regrets and mistakes,
Come today there’s no reason to wait,
Jesus is calling.
Bring your sorrows and trade them for joy,
From the ashes a new life is born,
Jesus is calling.
O come to the altar,
The Father’s arms are open wide,
Forgiveness was bought with,
The precious blood of Jesus Christ.
[repeat 1X]
Oh what a savior,
Isn't he wonderful,
Sing hallelujah Christ is risen,
Bow down before him,
For He is Lord of all,
Sing hallelujah Christ is risen.
[repeat 1X]
Bow down before him,
For He is Lord of all,
Sing hallelujah Christ is risen
O come to the altar,
The Father’s arms are open wide,
Forgiveness was bought with,
The precious blood of Jesus Christ.
[repeat 1X]
Bear your cross as you wait for the crown,
Tell the world of the treasure you’ve found.
