COUNTING ON GOD
I'm in a fight not physical
And I'm in a war
But not with this world
You are the light that's beautiful
And I want more
I want all that's Yours
Joy unspeakable that won't go away
And just enough strength
To live for today
So I never have to worry
What tomorrow will bring
'Cause my faith is on solid rock
I am counting on God
I am counting on
I am counting on God
I am counting on
I am counting on God
I am counting on
I am counting on God
I am counting on
I am counting on God
I'm in a fight not physical
And I'm in a war
But not with this world
You are the light that's beautiful
And I want more
I want all that's Yours
Joy unspeakable that won't go away
And just enough strength
To live for today
So I never have to worry
What tomorrow will bring
'Cause my faith is on solid rock
I am counting on God
I am counting on
I am counting on God
I am counting on
I am counting on God
I am counting on
I am counting on God
I am counting on
I am counting on God
And the miracle of Christ in me
Is the mystery that sets me free
I'm nothing like I used to be
Just open up your eyes you'll see
And the miracle of Christ in me
Is the mystery that sets me free
I'm nothing like I used to be
Open up your eyes you'll see
And the miracle of Christ in me
Is the mystery that sets me free
I'm nothing like I used to be
Just open up your eyes you'll see
And the miracle of Christ in me
Is the mystery that sets me free
I'm nothing like I used to be
Open up your eyes you'll see
(ENDING CHORUS – SING 2X)
Joy unspeakable that won't go away
And just enough strength
To live for today
So I never have to worry
What tomorrow will bring
'Cause my faith is on solid rock
I am counting on God
I am counting on
I am counting on God
I am counting on
I am counting on God
I am counting on

BE AN OVERCOMER
1. Be an overcomer, only cowards yield
When the foe they meet on the battlefield;
We are blood-bought princes of the royal host,
And must falter not, nor desert our post.
CHORUS
Overcome
(Never yield a step in the hottest
fight,)
Overcome
(God will send you help from the
realms of light; )
In Jehovah's might put the foe to flight,
And the victor's crown you shall wear at last.
2. Be an overcomer, He who stands with you
Is a mighty One, who is always true;
In the sorest conflict you shall win the day,
Face the legions dark till they flee away.
3. Be an overcomer, you are heaven's heir,
And a crown of life you may ever wear;
So with courage press the battle to the gates,
Till you gain the prize which in heaven waits.
4. Be an overcomer, forward boldly go,
You are strong enough if you count it so
Strong enough to conquer through sustaining grace,
And to overcome every foe you face.
STANDING ON THE PROMISES
1. Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.
CHORUS
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I'm standing on the promises of God.
2. Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.
3. Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love's strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit's sword,
Standing on the promises of God.
4. Standing on the promises I shall not fall,
List'ning every moment to the Spirit's call.
Resting in my Savior as my All in all,
Standing on the promises of God.

It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass
And whatever lies before me
Let me be singing
When the evening comes

MESSAGE: RESTING IN JESUS (MATTHEW 11:27-30)
27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Jesus is Speaking to the Burnt-out and the Burdened.
If you have ever felt this way, are currently feeling this way, think you may feel this way at some point again, or know someone who feels this way then listen to what Jesus has to say.
What you need to do to find rest in Jesus:
1. Come to Jesus
Promise: “He will give you rest”
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. -Psalm 23:1-3a, NIV
If the change in our society is making you restless, maybe God is trying to remind you that you need to come to Him to find rest. You may have more free time on your hands. You may have more to think about. You may have more burdens. Whatever, life brings our way, lets be the kind of people who come to Jesus for rest.
2. Put on Jesus’s Yoke
Reasoning: “His yoke is easy, and burden is light”
Yoke: “a wooden crosspiece that is fastened over the necks of two animals and attached to the plow or cart that they are to pull”
What are you connecting you life to? We are supposed to connect our life to Jesus. The thing you connect yourself to is going to affect where you are going. We are to be yoked to Jesus. It’s kind of like we are in a three-legged race and we are tied to Jesus. We are just supposed to step when He steps, and stop when He stops.
What are you carrying? The yoke Jesus gives you is easy and the burden is light. You may be wearing yourself out because you are carrying things you were never meant to carry. Let go of anger, fear, regret, worry, sin etc. and take the yoke that Jesus has.
3. Learn from Jesus
Reasoning: “He is gentle and humble in heart”
Promise: “You will find rest for you souls”
We need to learn from Jesus and hear the words He desires to speak into our lives. He is gentle and humble. He not only renews physical strength but also gives strength to our souls. It’s through Jesus we have a relationship with God. It’s Jesus that has been given all authority on heaven and earth. It’s Jesus alone who can truly give rest to our souls. When is that last time you really slowed down enough to hear what Jesus wants to say? If we really want rest we need to stop trying to fix everything on our own and just find time to be with Jesus.
Challenge: Set aside a special 30 minute block of time where you can just spend time with Jesus. Something beyond your normal routine. Come to him. Let go of any burdens you are carrying. Listen to Him by reading His word and being still in prayer. (Suggested passages to read: Matthew 6:25-24; Isaiah 40:21-31; Philippians 4:4-13; John 15:1-8).
SPIRIT HOLY
1. Spirit Holy, in me dwelling
Ever work as Thou shalt choose
All my ransomed powers and talents
For Thy purpose Thou shalt use
CHORUS
Spirit holy, Spirit Holy
All my being now possess
Lead me, rule me, work within me
Through my life Thy will express
2. O how sweet is Thy abiding
O how tender is the love
Thou dost shed abroad within me
From the Father-heart above!
3. Thou hast cleansed me for Thy temple
Garnished with Thy graces rare
All my soul Thou are enriching
By Thy fullness dwelling there
4. In me now reveal Thy glory
Let Thy might be ever shown
Keep me from the world’s defilement
Sacred for Thyself alone
